Wind is at Ron DeSantis’ Back After Tampa Trump Rally

Trump Rally Ron DeSantis

Florida Gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis has earned attention from media outlets both left and right after the release of a hilarious campaign ad in which he and his children engage in a number of pro-Trump household antics. Touting his pro-Trump reputation and personal endorsement from the President, DeSantis’ commercial begins with footage of him and his daughter playing with toy bricks in their living room as ‘build the wall’ flashes across the screen. The commercial then cuts to a scene of DeSantis reading ‘Art of the Deal’ to his infant son, and teaching his daughter how to read President Trump’s campaign slogan ‘make America great again.’ As the commercial comes to a close, DeSantis is seen standing alongside his son’s crib as the adorable infant wears a ‘make America great again’ onesie.

To most Floridians and observers across America, the ad was a hit; but as usual, Democrats are not amused and their mainstream media apparatus seem to have left their senses of humor at home. Left-wing pundits have been sent into a tailspin as they continuously attack the DeSantis ad. Fortunately for DeSantis, in the age of instant communication, the publicity has drawn significant interest to his campaign. This sort of attention from the other side of the aisle only means one thing: Democrats are scared! And they should be following the appearance of their worst nightmare on the ground in Florida: President Donald J. Trump.

Tonight, the President held a massive rally in favor of Congressman DeSantis, and supporters were camped out in front of Tampa’s Florida State Fairgrounds for days awaiting his arrival. The President made no bones about his support for the Congressman, reaffirming the message of DeSantis’ most recent ad. ‘We are restoring American strength and American pride!’ the President said to the ecstatic crowd packing the fairgrounds. ‘We need to elect more Republicans!’ he said, in a speech filled with punches directed towards the radical left wing of the Democratic Party, and establishment figures standing in the way of making America great again. The President’s message was clear: Ron DeSantis is the America first candidate in Florida’s Gubernatorial race!

The three-term Congressman and Iraq War veteran from Florida’s 6th Congressional District has been lauded by America First conservatives nationwide, and is surging in the most recent polls from in home state. As a result of his congressional voting record, DeSantis has been highlighted by Conservative Review as one of Congress’ ‘Top 25 Conservatives,’ a list that includes the likes of Speaker of the House candidate Congressman Jim Jordan, Congressman Dave Brat, and Senator Ted Cruz. DeSantis has received an A plus rating from illegal immigration watchdog group Numbers USA, who cited his long standing record of defending America’s borders and challenging the status quo in Washington, a city where the status quo tends to be ineffective governance and disregard for American voters.

In addition to his effectiveness as a legislator in Washington, DeSantis is a strong supporter of Americans’ Second Amendment rights. In a March interview with Fox News, DeSantis skewered Florida Governor Rick Scott over the signing of Florida’s unconstitutional gun control bill which resulted in the confiscation of hundreds of Floridians’ firearms without due process. DeSantis called the bungling of the Nikolas Cruz case ‘the most catastrophic failure of government’ he’s ever seen, laying the blame on the shooter and those whose negligence resulted in existing laws not being enforced.

Florida politicos say DeSantis has the wind at his back as he approaches his party’s gubernatorial primary battle against Florida Agriculture Commissioner and establishment favorite Adam Putnam, who many have been labeled as Governor Rick Scott’s ‘chosen successor,’ an accusation that harkens back to the Democrat political machines that dominated the South for generations following reconstruction.

Despite state party leadership’s affection for Putnam, DeSantis’ savvy ad campaign, endorsement from, and outspoken support of President Trump makes him a force to be reckoned with in 2018. In a state that helped put the President in the White House only two years ago, DeSantis could be poised to ‘win bigly’ in 2018.
