Amazon to Launch its Own ‘The Hunt’ that Depicts Nazis Being Hunted Instead of ‘Deplorables’

Amazon is releasing a 10 episode miniseries this year called ‘The Hunt’. This is not the same as the controversial movie that you have likely been hearing about on the news and seeing viral articles covering.

Who is ‘The Hunt’s’ top executive? Jordan Peele. Yes, the same Jordan Peele that said: “I don’t see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie”. This was a couple of years after he produced ‘Get Out’, another racially charged film.

Jordan Peele announced in 2017, a month after the tragic Unite the Right incident in Charlottesville, Virginia, that he was working on the new ‘The Hunt’ Amazon series. In the summary of the show, ‘Nazi hunters’ are Hunting down a group of Nazi’s trying to establish the 4th reich in the ’70s which is “based off of real events”.

As for the NBCUniversal movie ‘The Hunt’, seemingly completely separate from the show, which is making tidal waves in the news, it is set to be released at the end of September. This motion picture depicts a group of elites who bring in 12 ‘deplorables’ to hunt and kill.

Strangely enough, or perhaps not so strange, the executive producer for ‘The Hunt’, (the movie) is Jason Blum, a former executive with Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s Miramax.

Jason Blum and Jordan Peele worked together on the racially charged movie ‘Get Out’. ‘Get Out’ Was Jordan Peele’s directorial debut and bolstered Blum’s production company Blumhouse which was known for low budget horror films to being the ‘Pixar’ of horror films.

Although it would be speculation, it’s hard not to wonder if the two productions are connected, and furthermore if they seek to depict violence towards ‘Trump supporters’ and then go as far as to imply that they are Nazis, as has been done before in the media and with unsavory groups such as ‘AntiFa’. ‘AntiFa’, of course, is a violent ‘anti-fascist’ group that the FBI is considering labeling a domestic terror organization.

After recent mass shootings, ads for the movie were being pulled. In light of recent media outrage over potential divisiveness and accusations of presidential rhetoric fanning flames of violence, it’s outrageous that Hollywood is still planning on releasing this gory film with all of its political implications.
