While former Vice President and presidential candidate Joe Biden has been trying to get any kind of attention for his campaign, it seems he has been stifled among the destruction COVID-19 outbreak that has taken the world by storm.
Biden has been under quarantine at his home like many others and has done some online speeches from there, although the press gave him scant coverage. They say sometimes bad press can better than no press and Joe Biden hasn’t had much of either.
While Biden fumbles and bumbles through videos (see below this paragraph for an example) and tweets, President Trump, like a seasoned ship’s captain, has been weathering the United States through an unprecedented storm, and it has been all eyes on him. The Democrats hate this of course, as does Joe, and many Democrats have bashed President Trump despite his best efforts to perform the delicate balancing act of managing COVID-19 and keeping the United States economy from near-certain demise.
Over the last few days, it seemed like Biden has needed some sort of lifeline to get his flailing campaign off life support. Well, this week he got some ‘much needed’ attention drawn to him, but unfortunately for him, it was all the wrong kind. The Blaze reported on Wednesday that (as Sean Hannity of Fox News likes to call him) “Creepy Sleepy Joe 30330 Cornpop Biden” was accused of sexual assault.
This oughta get him some attention for sure, right? Well, it all depends on which media outlets you get your news from most likely. A woman has now stepped forward, accusing Biden of sexual assault in 1993 when she worked for him as a staff assistant. The accuser’s name? Tara Reade. She put forth the details of her account on Wednesday with journalist and podcaster Katie Harper.
Reade claimed she was sent to get a gym bag for at the time U.S. Senator Joe Biden when he caught up with her in a “side area” and allegedly sexually assaulted her. She claimed he had put his hands under her clothes and kissed her before asking her if she wanted to “go somewhere else”. Apparently realizing she didn’t enjoy the encounter, Biden allegedly said: “C’mon man, I heard you liked me”.
The Daily Wire reported part of her recount:
“For me, it was like everything shattered in that moment because I knew that we were alone. It was over, right? He wasn’t trying to do anything more – but I looked up to him, he was like my father’s age, he was like this champion of women’s rights in my eyes and I couldn’t believe it was happening. It seemed surreal. I just felt sick because when he pulled back, he looked annoyed, and he said something else to me that I don’t want to say, and then he said – I must have looked shocked … I don’t know how I looked, but I must have looked something because he grabbed me by the shoulders, and said, “You’re okay. You’re fine. You’re okay. You’re fine,” and then he walked away, and went on with his day.”
Unfortunately for Reade, there were no witnesses, and it appears that although Biden is hungry for attention from the media, this particular bit of attention may be something he tries his best to downplay as much as humanly possible. See the video below for more:
