Dan Crenshaw Calls 2nd Amendment Supporters Who Are Mad at Him ‘Emotionally Triggered’

Texas Rep. (R) Dan Crenshaw took to Twitter back on August 4th, to voice support for new gun control measures after the Dayton, OH, and El Paso, TX shootings that tragically occurred with 24 hours of each other.

Well despite the sad situations that caused the latest round of gun control debates to occur, many Republicans and second amendment supporters don’t believe more gun control, such as ‘Red Flag’ laws, are the answer. This being the case, Crenshaw has received tons of backlash and has had to take to a few different avenues to defend and clarify his statements. One such example was a discussion in a video with Dana Loesch, the former NRA Spokeswoman.

Another is a Facebook video where he appears to be speaking out to his angry constituents to try to calm them down. You be the judge, but it appears as though he is coming across in a condescending manner as if he knows better than the general public about the topic of the second amendment. He claims that the Republican version of ‘Red Flag’ laws are totally different from Democrat versions.

In the video below you can see Rep Crenshaw saying that the words ‘Red Flag’ laws emotionally triggered a lot of people.

He even mentions in one part of the video how there are a few memes of him going around the internet, and that he thinks they could have been better, in an attempt to joke around about the situation in what seems to be an awkward attempt to be lighthearted.

He wraps up the video with “we are better than that, let’s be better than that” in reference to people getting angry about proposed gun control measures.
