Dems Take Off The Gloves, Go for The Full Impeachment

After resisting calls from more radical Democrats for months, Pelosi is throwing in the towel and calling for an official “impeachment inquiry” in the U.S. House of representatives. She thinks President Trump has violated the constitution due to alleged whistleblower reports that have not been verified.

The reports say that President Trump pushed the Ukranian President to investigate Joe Biden for behavior done while his son Hunter Biden’s son’s employer over there was being investigated. The Washington Examiner reports that in the wake of all this, the investigation back then that was indeed stonewalled is likely to be re-opened now.

As for President Trump, he is planning on releasing a full transcript of the alleged phone call later today in which he supposedly makes the statements that the Democrats are up in arms about right now. But Pelosi and her army of angry fellow Congressmen have not waited for that, and this “inquiry” is underway. Could it spell trouble for the left if the transcripts from President Trump’s phone call turn out to be a nothing burger?

NBC reported that Pelosi said among other things:

“This week the president has admitted to asking the president of Ukraine to take actions which would benefit him politically,” Pelosi said.

“The actions of the Trump presidency revealed the dishonorable fact of the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security, and betrayal of the integrity of our elections,” she continued. “Therefore, today I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry.”

Pelosi said she was formally directing the House’s six committees that have jurisdiction over impeachment, oversight and other related matters to “proceed with their investigations under that umbrella.”

“The president must be held accountable,” she said. “No one is above the law.”

Pelosi’s change of heart comes as dozens of House Democrats — now more than two-thirds of the caucus — have come out in support of an impeachment inquiry in the wake of reports that Trump may have withheld aid to Ukraine to pressure officials there to investigate the son of political rival Joe Biden.

It seems as though this could either be really bad for President Trump, or absolutely nothing at all. Regardless, we will likely know very soon the real situation at hand with Trump’s situation. As for Joe Biden, it may be a long longer still before he is completely in the clear, although he claims he has done nothing wrong.

In a tweet recently by President Trump, he tries to make the case the Biden has been inconsistent with his statements on the issue to try and undermine his credibility on this topic. It’s clear both parties see this as a way to fundraise and rally their base, but only likely that one will come out on top from the major news scandal that is unfolding before us.
