Florida Artist Paints Tributes to President Trump on Hurricane Shutters

In a video posted to Facebook yesterday and first reported by a local news outlet, Florida artist Jeff Sonksen wowed onlookers with the hurricane shutters he painted with various tributes to President Trump.

In the video, he says, “This is what I call Keeping America Great, while keeping my house safe during Hurricane Dorian.” A man who was checking out the shutters quipped, “Smart.”

Sonksen is located in Orlando, Florida and although the current trajectory of the hurricane shows that it isn’t likely to make the largest impact there, it is important to remain vigilant in case it makes a turn.

In another part of the video, Sonksen describes how he likes “to paint on fence pickets” and “to paint Trump”. The video even captured cars slowing down as they drove by to look at the shutters.

President Trump has been watching the hurricane closely, meeting with FEMA officials and following the track at Camp David. He has also been retweeting the National Hurricane Center (@NHC_Atlantic), The Weather Channel (@weatherchannel), and even ABC News (@ABC). He tweeted out prayers for the Bahamas yesterday as they took a direct hit from the hurricane.
