Calls to deport 33-year-old Lizbeth Mateo, an illegal alien appointed to a statewide government position in California are growing, with the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), leading the way.
Mateo, who despite her illegal presence in the United States has been admitted to the California State Bar, refers to herself as an ‘immigrant rights activist,’ and last month, was appointed to the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) by State Senate President pro tempore Kevin de Leon, an outspoken Hispanic nationalist and author of California’s ‘sanctuary state’ bill, signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown earlier this year. de Leon’s appointment of Mateo comes as no shock to those close to California politics, considering his history of bragging about members of his own family who have illegally entered the United States living under assumed identities complete with fake IDs and Social Security numbers, and remarks made during a 2014 trip to Mexico City in which he attacked both the Republican Party and the United States of America.
According to a report from the Sacramento Bee, as a member of Cal-SOAP, Mateo, who was born in Oaxaca, Mexico and illegally entered the United States at the age of 14, will join the group in efforts to ‘increase college access for California students from low-income or underserved communities,’ a taxpayer funded service Mateo and de Leon quite obviously believe should be directed towards illegal aliens. ‘While undocumented students have become more visible in our state, they remain underrepresented in places where decisions that affect them are being made,’ Mateo told the Bee. Senator de Leon, who recently held a press conference instructing US Senator Dianne Feinstein, who he will challenge in 2018, to not return to California until helping force a government shutdown to combat efforts to secure America’s southern border, agrees. ‘Ms. Mateo is a courageous, determined, and intelligent young woman who at great personal risk has dedicated herself to fight for those seeking their rightful place in this country,’ he told reporters.
Echoing calls from everyday Americans for the Trump Administration to put their money where their mouth is and combat California’s blatant disregard of US immigration law and national security, ALIPAC released a statement ‘calling on President Donald Trump and acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Thomas Homan to immediately arrest and deport illegal immigrant Lizbeth Mateo.’ ‘Lizbeth Mateo’s overt defiance of existing US immigration laws sends a powerful message to the world that America has no control over our borders and our existing laws and elections are meaningless compared to the actual immigration policies in the USA,’ continued the statement. ALIPAC also called for criminal charges to be filed against Senator de Leon, and ‘all other individuals who are harboring, assisting, and promoting Mateo in clear defiance of numerous federal laws that prohibit such actions.’
The American people agree. Mateo claims to be ‘undocumented and unafraid.’ It’s time to take back control of our borders and make those living in open defiance of the law afraid yet again.
