Lewandowski Promotes Possible Senate Bid with Tweet During House Judiciary Hearings

Yesterday firebrand Trump loyalist Corey Lewandowski had a proverbial field day with his Democrat questioners at a House Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday relating to the impeachment process being pushed for President Trump by House Democrats. Lewandowski was subpoenaed to attend for questioning. There were many memorable moments, newsworthy clips and viral videos that stemmed from this hearing where a defiant Lewandowski made it hard for many Democrats to get the answers they wanted from him while Republicans who cross-examined him like Rep. Jim Jordan (R) noted that the committee’s time would be better served questioning someone like Jim Comey.

Lewandowski even made it a point to capitalize on the TV time by defiantly and shamelessly promoting a possible bid for a U.S. Senate seat that he has been teasing. House Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (video clip later in the article) made it clear to him that Lewandowski was not on the campaign trail. But Corey was not deterred by that apparently. According to RollCall.com:

Lewandowski was transparent throughout the day about viewing the hearing as a platform for his potential campaign message, even tweeting out a link to a potential campaign website during the hearing’s first five-minute break.

After the House Judiciary Committee convened for the day, Lewandowski even took to Twitter to double down in the face of some Democrats even calling for him to be held in contempt of court for not answering the questions the way they wanted him to. Lewandowski retweeted a video clip from President Trump, captioning it:

“Thank you @realDonaldTrump. No collusion no obstruction — the American people know it, and I’ll continue to remind them. #Senate2020. #StandwithCorey”

The video retweeted from @realDonaldTrump is a clip of House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D) introducing Corey Lewandowski and Corey mentioning, among other things, how he has already testified on three separate occasions, but he here is again, to ‘answer the same questions again in the spirit of cooperation’.

At one point after a clash with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D) another House rep,
David Cicilline (D) called for Lewandowski to be held in contempt. Cicilline says to Chairman Nadler, “this witness continues to obstruct the work of this committee by refusing to answer questions he’s been ordered to do so by you, I ask that you would judge him in contempt in these proceedings”
