For nearly two years the American people have been bombarded with accusations of ‘Russian meddling’ in the 2016 Presidential Election. Accusations of Russian interference were heard from the left before the final votes were even tallied, and with a groundswell of Democrat support, an FBI investigation led by Bob Mueller began less than five months after the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, costing the taxpayers $16.7 million dollars in its first year. As the investigation drags on, some sources have reported its total cost to have swelled to over $20 million dollars as the tab continues to rise, and little progress is made. Since Mueller’s investigation began, Democrats have been on the edge of their seats, waiting for the ‘gotcha’ moment they so crave, but of the over 100 charges filed by Mueller and his team, not a single one has produced a smoking gun, and as was the case with the charges against and subsequent conviction of Paul Manafort, a former Trump Campaign adviser, many are related to unpaid income taxes, not politics, and most certainly not election meddling.
As Mueller’s investigation continues to shroud the 2018 Midterm Elections, Americans deserve answers. Why has Mueller’s investigation been allowed to continue, despite his most radical discoveries being those of unpaid taxes and internet ‘troll farms’ (websites distributing internet memes favoring both sides of the aisle)? Do Democrats believe the American people to be so stupid, that a mere cartoon frog could swing an entire election? No, they do not. What Democrats believe, and rightfully so, is that their system of governance is on its way out the door, and if they can evoke Cold War sentiments in the hearts and minds of their base, they just may have a shot at winning a few elections. In other words, Mueller’s investigation has acted as a political tool for Democrats looking to point their finger at a foreign power, delegitimize the President of the United States, and get out the vote this November.
Unfortunately for the left, what was originally touted as an unstoppable ‘blue wave’ and an unprecedented reversal of Democrats’ political fortunes has been exposed as nothing more than a creation of the Democratic Party’s media apparatus. A fake news story meant to pump up Democrats and discourage Republicans. Even mainstream polling outlets, the same polling outlets which predicted a landslide Clinton victory just two years ago, are beginning to admit that Republicans will not only hold the Senate, but gain Senate seats, and even maintain control of the House of Representatives. Of course, if this is what polling outlets are openly admitting before election day, then things must be looking pretty darn bad for the left.
The American people have had enough of Democrats’ divisive policies and campaigns. They have had enough of Democrats not just refusing to put America first, but refusing to put America second, third, or even fourth. For any candidate, it would be unwise to run a campaign against economic growth, a denuclearized Korean Peninsula, tax cuts, and increased national security. Instead, Democrats have summoned old faithful, telling their base that a Russian bogeyman is lurking behind every corner, and even inside the Oval Office. It is a losing strategy.
