On Wednesday, August 28th the ‘Knight First Amendment Institute’ of Columbia University sent a letter to AOC urging her to not block users on Twitter. They state in their letter it is unconstitutional for her to block opposing viewpoints on a public forum, the same thing that they sued President Trump for in 2017 which the letter references.
In response to this letter AOC tweeted:
“1. I have 5.2 million followers. Less than 20 accounts are blocked for ongoing harassment. 0 are my constituents.
2. Harassment is not a viewpoint. Some accounts, like the Daily Caller, posted fake nude photos of me & abused my comments to spread it. No one is entitled to abuse.”

Liz Wheeler, who hosts a popular show called ‘Tipping Point‘ on the Trump-friendly One America News Network was apparently one the very few unlucky ‘less than 20’ to get blocked from the entertainment that is AOC’s Twitter feed. Wheeler apparently isn’t all too thrilled about it and brought back some July tweets in a new tweet from today to call out AOC.
Wheeler ranted in a tweetstorm thread in response to AOC’s tweet to Columbia University. You can see all of her tweets in the rant thread by clicking the tweet below.
LOL. Now @AOC says she blocked me for “ongoing harassment.” What utter nonsense. I have ALWAYS been respectful & civil. I challenge AOC’s voting record in Congress & fact-check her tweets/lies. I never say anything personal about her.

According to a federal judge, President Trump is not allowed to block Twitter users who disagree with his stances regardless of how belligerent they are on social media, does AOC have the right to block those who dissent from her viewpoints?
