Florida State Representative Vows to File Constitutional Carry in Florida

Gun rights advocate and Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini is introducing what he claims to be the first constitutional carry bill in Florida, as strong pushback to the anti-second amendment bills and rhetoric being pushed by folks on both sides of the aisle. In a video below Rep. Sabatini gives a short pep talk to try to get the constituents involved.

Politics Elections received an exclusive statement from State Rep. Sabatini on the bill:

“Constitutional carry is the only gun policy consistent with the Second Amendment. We need commonsense gun reform – that’s why I am for Constitutional carry and campus carry”

Sabatini is the first to support this movement in the state general assembly but others are expected to sign on soon.

In the video, the state Rep. for District 32 mentions that he is going to be filing the bill next week and he is partnering up with ‘Florida Gun Rights‘ to help advocate for it. A petition is available that he is asking people to sign as you can see in the linked image below the video.

The petition is requesting that constituents give their name, email address, and zip code. See images below that link to the petition.

Recently, in a response to squishy Republicans pledging, or at least flirting with the ideas of ‘Red Flag’ gun confiscation laws such as Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and Texas U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw have done, Sabatini issued a scathing rebuke of those moves. He did so by tweeting out a very simple message: Government can pry guns from my ‘cold dead hands’.

UPDATE: Politics Elections also received a statement from Florida Gun Rights which reads as follows:

“Florida Gun Rights and our members are proud to work with Rep. Sabatini on this important issue. We must restore the rights of law-abiding Floridians which is exactly what Constitutional Carry will do.”
