GOP Florida Senate President’s Org Took $500k from Bloomberg Prior to Gun Control Move

Florida Senate President Bill Galvano is promising to deliver on gun control, after the most recent mass shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH. It might be wise of Galvano to keep in mind that 1 in 4 Floridians have their concealed carry permits. Most Floridians are historically pro-Second Amendment – a fact Galvano seems to want to forget.

‘Campus carry’ bills have been dead on arrival in the Republican Majority Legislature and Galvano’s tenure and over the last three years, despite much statewide support by Sunshine state citizens.

Florida Senate President Galvano is coming off as a very anti-second amendment politician these days. Dig a little deeper and the answer as to why becomes clear. Galvano was ‘blasted’ by the NRA for his unlikely associations with Michael Bloomberg.

Bill’s name is directly associated with his Political Action Committee named “INNOVATE FLORIDA.” If you search “INNOVATE FLORIDA” on the State of Florida website you will find some interesting donations. Liberal gun control mouthpiece, Michael Bloomberg, made two major cash infusions to Galvano’s PAC through Bloomberg’s PAC named “Everytown for Gun Safety:”

On 09/04/2018 there was a donation for $200,000, and again on 10/26/2018 for $300,000.

In 2017, then party chair Blaise Ingoglia implemented the Republican Party of Florida Second Amendment Committee. It is no surprise that Joe Gruters is anti-gun because he is rated 67% with the NRA and voted for the 2018 gun control bill.

Also, even more troubling, is news about the Florida Republican Party. An anonymous source recently told Politics Elections that “Joe Gruters eliminated the Second Amendment Committee” for the state Republican Party, a committee set up by the outgoing chairman, Blaise Ingolia.

This all comes at a time when representative Mike Hill proposed a repeal of the Gun Control bill passed by Galvano and Gruters in 2018, and Attorney General Ashley Moody is fighting in the courts to stop the AR-15 ban that may end up on the Florida ballot.

Galvano and Gruters seem to be the ones to watch, as they have been pushing for more gun control. Rep Mike Hill and Attorney General Ashley Moody, on the other hand, have been fighting for the right to keep and bear arms. Most likely the latter two are not ‘paid for by Bloomberg’.
