How Tulsi Gabbard Is More Extreme Than People Realize

One of the interesting candidates for President in the 2020 Democrat field is going to be none other than Controversial Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI). She has recently shown interest in running and appears to draw some inspiration from the far reaches of BOTH political spectrums.

But a closer look shows why there’s no reason any good conservative Republican or even moderate would want to support her. All you have to do is look at her website here.

It’s very easy to see that she is not for the 2nd amendment, supports Planned Parenthood and is a staunch proponent of socialized healthcare. None of these are things the Republican party can build a foundation from. Read the quote below directly from her website on gun control as an example.

On the second Amendment:

Tulsi has a consistent record of advocating for sensible gun control. She has long called for reinstating a federal ban on military-style assault weapons and high capacity magazines, requiring comprehensive pre-purchase background checks, closing the gun-show loophole, and making sure that terrorists are not allowed to buy guns. Tulsi has an F-rating from the NRA, a 0% rating by the Hawaii Rifle Association, and a 100% rating by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. She is focused on building bipartisan solutions that can actually be passed into law, rather than using the issue as a partisan political football.

On socialized Medicine:

Our present healthcare system is organized by and for the benefit of big insurance and pharmaceutical companies and not the American people. This must change.

While the Affordable Care Act was a step towards insuring roughly 20 million Americans, many issues remain with the Affordable Care Act, including escalating costs and high copayments/deductibles. Most importantly, 27 million Americans are still uninsured.  All Americans should have access to affordable healthcare through Medicare or a public option. We must ensure universal healthcare and empower the government to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies to bring down the price of prescription drugs.

On Planned Parenthood:

Tulsi is committed to defending a woman’s right to choose, which government has no place infringing on. She has a 100% voting record with both Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

Gabbard is indeed a unique candidate and will draw an interesting following of people. But if you have conservative values there is no question who to support for President in 2020. President Trump has stood up to globalism, fought bad trade agreements and is working to end wars that don’t need to be fought. There already is a fighter doing the best job he can for the people who put him in office.

As for the Democrats, Gabbard may be appealing to many on the left, but as they did with Bernie Sanders in 2016, I can imagine someone like her will be blocked for a more globalist, “anointed” style politician, so unfortunately supporters of hers on that side may be out of luck either way.
