While the mainstream media tries to paint the openly gay Midwestern Mayor of South Bend Indiana and now Presidential candidate Peter or ‘Pete” Buttigieg as a moderate, the reality is that he has been far left since high school. In an essay written for the JFK library, he blasts centrist politicians.
“A new attitude has swept American politics. Candidates have discovered that is easier to be elected by not offending anyone rather than by impressing the voters. Politicians are rushing for the center, careful
not to stick their necks out on issues. Most Democrats shy away from the word “liberal” like a horrid accusation.”
Further down the essay is where he outlines his beliefs and makes a call for normalizing socialism and communism while painting his admiration for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. “Sanders’ courage is evident in the first word he uses to describe himself: “Socialist”. In a country where Communism is still the dirtiest of ideological dirty words, in a climate where even liberalism is considered radical, and Socialism is immediately and perhaps willfully confused with Communism, a politician dares to call himself a socialist? He does indeed.”
He ends the essay by implying that Sanders has inspired him to enter into politics. “Above all, I commend Bernie Sanders for giving me an answer to those who say American young people see politics as a cesspool of corruption, beyond redemption. I have heard that no sensible young person today would want to give his or her life to public service. I can personally assure you this is untrue.” Is Pete really a moderate like he wants us to think?

Pete Buttigieg and many on the left want to assure the voters that he is indeed a moderate. But the fact that he praised Bernie Sanders back in Highschool highlights the fact that he is indeed either a radical, or a weak flip-flopper with no real positions like Beto O’Rourke. Even more concerning to the Democrats should be that ‘Mayor Pete’ has even compared Bernie Sanders, his one-time hero and now nemesis, to President Trump! For more on this see the video shown below.

More concerning still for “Mayor Pete”, a man who presents himself as someone for the little guy, it appears as though he hasn’t done much for the little guy in his own home town. According to this recently published article by CNBC, some citizens say he has done very “little to improve the neighborhoods in the city’s northwest”.
It appears as though the real ‘Mayor Pete” may not be quite the stalwart and the clean whistle he wants us to think he is. His former hero Bernie, while a far radical leftist, at least isn’t shy about his beliefs, as crazy as they are.
