Matt Gaetz Shreds a Weary Robert Mueller in Congressional Testimony

Robert Mueller testified today before the House Judiciary and House Intelligence committees respectively.

During the House Judiciary session, Gaetz did not mince words, and Mueller appeared to be tired, confused, or just not excited about being grilled by Congress today. In what is now becoming a viral video clip, Gaetz piled on tough question after tough question and Mueller did not field them very respectably.

Gaetz, a Representative from Florida’s 1st district, opened up the “show” with the question:

“Director Mueller, can you state with confidence that the Steele Dossier was not part of Russia’s disinformation campaign?”

Manafort feebly replied that that part of the investigation predated his involvement by at least ten months. That wasn’t acceptable to the quick-witted Gaetz who immediately referenced Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign manager.

“Paul Manafort’s alleged crimes regarding tax evasion pre-dated you, and you had no problem charging them, and matter of fact, this Steele Dossier pre-dated the attorney general and he didn’t have any problem answering the question. When Senator Cornyn asked the attorney general the exact question I asked you, director, the attorney general said and I’m quoting, ‘No I can’t state that with confidence, and that’s one of the areas I’m reviewing. I’m concerned about it and I don’t think it’s entirely speculative.'”

He goes on to further detail his concerns in the must-see video below:

Today was not a great day for Robert Mueller as stated previously as he appeared ‘dazed and confused’, and many including Trey Gowdy speculated that perhaps Robert Mueller himself did not actually write the Mueller report.

It also wasn’t a great day for Democrats who were hoping to augment their chances of impeaching President Trump, although it appears to many that the chances were probably diminished today.
