Primary elections took place across the country yesterday and none were more important than three races in Virginia. The DSA, (Democratic Socialists of America) who have endorsed candidates such as Bernie Sanders and AOC, yesterday included one against the Democrat Senate Minority Leader Dick Saslaw who represents a NOVA district. Saslaw was able to fend off the challenge from DSA endorsed Yasmine Taeb.
This new wave of far left Democrats is highlighted here where Bernie Sanders says Democratic socialism is “the next stage of FDR’s New Deal”. Bernie states in a recent speech quoted from “Yahoo! News”:
“We must take the next step forward and guarantee every man, woman and child in our country basic economic rights ― the right to quality health care, the right to as much education as one needs to succeed in our society, the right to a decent job, the right to affordable housing, the right to a secure retirement and the right to live in a clean environment,” the 2020 presidential candidate said in his speech at George Washington University in the nation’s capital. “We must recognize that in the 21st century, in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, economic rights are human rights. And that is what I mean by democratic socialism.”

The general election will have some independent challengers, but none are considered to have a realistic shot at this point which means that come January, there will be two city councilors who were endorsed by the far left organization, with one being the current mayor, Nikuyah Walker.
On the heels of these elections, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders delivered a speech today defending “democratic socialism”, which can be seen in the video clip below.
