Rep. Louie Gohmert Destroys Bob Mueller, Stands Up For Justice

The buck stops with Louie Gohmert! Or at least it did today, as the Texas Republican unloaded on Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who appeared before the House Judiciary Committee to testify about his nearly two-year investigation into the Democrats’ Russian collusion conspiracy theory. From the start of the roughly 5 minutes he was allotted for questioning, no punches were pulled. Refusing to play the part of Adam Schiff, and kiss the ring of the Special Counsel, Gohmert got straight to business, grilling Mueller on the impact his close relationship with fired FBI Director James Comey had on his investigation, before pivoting to questions surrounding the team of investigators Mueller had assembled.

Gohmert’s full exchange with Mueller can be viewed below, and an article on Mueller’s true character Gohmert wrote and submitted for the record at today’s hearings can be read here.

‘Most prosecutors want to make sure there’s no appearance of impropriety, but in your case, you hired a bunch of people that did not like the President’, Gohmert said to Mueller before zeroing in on disgraced Special Counsel member and FBI Agent Peter Stzrok. ‘Peter Stzrok hated Trump’, Gohmert told Mueller, who smugly replied ‘okay’, before insisting that he had ‘acted swiftly’ to reassign Stzrok following the leak of thousands of text messages he had exchanged with his mistress, Lisa Paige, a fellow FBI Agent, via the two’s government phones. ‘Well, there’s some discussion about how swift that was’, Gohmert replied.

Then, sparks began to fly, as Gohmert skewered Mueller regarding the dog and pony show that has become of the Special Counsel’s investigation, and slapped down Democrat-led accusations of obstruction of justice against the President. ‘If somebody knows they did not conspire with anybody from Russia to affect the election, and they see the big Justice Department with people that hate that person coming after them, and then a Special Counsel appointed who hires a dozen or more people who hate that person, and he knows he’s innocent, he’s not corruptly acting in order to see that justice is done…he is pursuing justice! And the fact that you ran it out two years means you perpetuated injustice!’ Gohmert shouted, as Committee Chairman Nadler repeatedly slammed his gavel, signaling the expiration of Gohmert’s allotted time.
