As the radical left tightens its stranglehold on the DNC, some party members are beginning to push back. Despite constant kicking, screaming, and demands of airtime from so-called ‘Justice Democrats’ and party leadership, there appears to be a few Democrats who still want to get the job done, and President Trump is welcoming them back to reality with open arms.
Freshman Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, recently made headlines when she broke with her party on the issue of border security, joining with the Senate GOP in co-sponsoring legislation to quickly deport migrants making false claims of asylum. Additionally, fellow red-state Democrats Joe Manchin of West Virginia, and Doug Jones of Alabama have signed on to ‘Operation Safe Return’, in what has become a bipartisan effort to clean up some of the mess at our nation’s borders and ports of entry. For Sinema, whose successful 2018 bid to replace Jeff Flake became cause celebre at the DNC, it would appear that ironically, her border bona fides now surpass those of her predecessor, a never-Trump ‘Republican’.
Although hailed a hero by left-wing publications when elected last November, Operation Safe Return doesn’t mark Sinema’s first revolt against the radical left. Back in May, as Israeli civilians faced a barrage of rocket fire from Palestinian terrorists, many on the left remained silent, while at least one of Sinema’s peers seemed to throw her support behind Islamic radicals, as opposed to America’s ally. ‘The status quo of occupation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza is unsustainable’ tweeted Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar. ‘Only real justice can bring about security and lasting peace.’ Of course, as Omar has repeatedly expressed, her definition of ‘real justice’ may not include the continued existence of the State of Israel. While party leadership remained mum, and mainstream media prepared to blindly launch accusations of racism at Omar’s naysayers, Sinema released a tweet of her own, contrasting Omar’s support of America’s enemies with her own support of America’s ally. ‘I condemn the rocket attacks on innocent civilians and stand in support of Israel and peace’ wrote Sinema.

Even more recently, Sinema’s Twitter account appears to strewn with remarks about working across the aisle, supporting veterans, and mentioning the late John McCain in an endearing manner. See below for a few examples of things you may sometimes, but not often see from too many on the far left.
SINEMA TWEETS ABOUT JOHN MCCAIN:
“So, with Sen. McCain’s example lighting the way, and with the trust of the people of Arizona shaping my service, I recommit to ignoring political games, and focusing on upholding AZ values, to get things done that matter to the state and country I love.” https://t.co/KEOIYNIVcX

“One of Senator McCain’s last acts in the Senate was to shepherd last year’s annual defense bill into law – the same annual bill which, this year, includes our Daniel Somers Network of Support Act.”

KYRSTEN SINEMA TWEETS SUPPORT FOR VETERANS:
“And it’s exactly why, as Arizona’s senior Senator, I won’t spend my time focusing on areas of disagreement –

because spending energy on the latest tweet, the latest insult, and petty politics simply doesn’t move the needle for everyday people like the Somers.”
KYRSTEN SINEMA TWEETS ABOUT WORKING ACROSS PARTY LINES:
“And, working as a team across party lines, we successfully included the Network of Support legislation in the national defense bill passed by both the Senate and the House over the past few weeks.”

Senate Democrats aren’t the only ones beginning to wake up. Just last week, Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar, of the state’s 28th Congressional District, appeared on Fox News with Neil Cavuto and refused to grovel to his party’s radical left-wing. Cuellar has been singled out as a 2020 primary season target by the Justice Democrats, a Political Action Committee founded by Cenk Uyghar which boasts Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Presley as members. Cuellar minced no words when asked about the new leftists on the block and their threats against his Congressional seat. ‘They’re socialists and they want to import their vision to Texas’, Cuellar said. ‘In Texas, our vision is very different from…what I call these Justice Democrats, who are actually socialists.’
With such division and controversy being sewn by members of their own party, and no apparent consensus forming around any of the dozens of Democrat candidates for President, Democrat-friendly publications are already fretting 2020. Even the New York Times is beginning to admit that despite their best efforts, the American people support the President’s agenda. In a July 19th Times article by Nate Cohn, the headline screams ‘Trump’s Electoral Edge Could Grow in 2020.’ According to Cohn, the rust belt (think Joe Manchin), where the most important battles of the 2016 campaign were fought, remains loyal to President Trump. In the sunbelt (think Kyrsten Sinema), the President’s approval ratings are even higher. ‘The Democrats have few obviously promising alternative paths to win without these battleground states’ wrote Cohn.
The American people support the President’s agenda. Savvy statesmen and women like Henry Cuellar and Kyrsten Sinema have realized that embracing the Democrats’ most radical pillars will not end well for them. The party which so often refers to its members as ‘progressives’ has allowed itself to be engulfed by the hard left, and become the party of obstruction, not progress. President Trump has repeatedly extended his hand across the aisle and been met with nothing but vehement disrespect and hatred. It is refreshing for the American people to finally see a few hands reach back, and get the job done, all while standing up to anti-American forces within the Democratic Party.
