Conservative Group Blasts Legislator in Texas Pro-Trump District to Protect Monuments

Conservative Response Team is at it again! The unrelenting group which strongly advocates for the preservation of historical monuments, including Confederate ones, has released a new video after the previous one was a success.

This time it is aimed at Texas Senator Kel Seliger, who is a holdout vote that could be the difference of passing a monumental (pun intended) bill for the state of Texas and those concerned with preserving all history.

The Historical Protection Act would be on par with things going on around the country such as recent bills in Georgia and Alabama, and a Judge’s ruling on monuments in Charlottesville, Virginia, that says they are protected by state law.

Previously Conservative Response Team has effectively put pressure on other politicians such as Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, and House Speaker Dennis Bonnen.

This decision should be an easy one for Senator Seliger, as polls have shown that the majority of Texans don’t want their history messed with.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 1, 2019

Dallas, Texas – A new Conservative Response Team TV ad campaign is urging Texans to call Senator Kel Seliger to demand passage of the Historical Protection Act.

“There’s eighteen votes to pass the bill, but it needs nineteen,” the TV ad says. “And Seliger is the lone holdout. Call Kel Seliger and tell him not to mess with Texas history.”

The TV ad begins airing today in Seliger’s district and will continue into next week. The Conservative Response Team is spending well over $10,000 on the campaign, which includes radio ads, text messages, and robocalls in Seliger’s district.

Voiceover Transcript:

“Dallas. Houston. Austin. Liberal cities in a culture war against American history. Last year Alabama passed a law protecting historical monuments. Georgia was next, and their law was signed last week. Now it’s Texas’s turn, but Senator Kel Seliger stands in the way. There’s eighteen votes to pass the bill, but it needs nineteen. And Seliger is the lone holdout. Call Kel Seliger and tell him not to mess with Texas history. Now. Before it’s destroyed. Forever.”
